DebtWave was established in 2001 with the mission of delivering financial education to the public. Similar to today, many households were facing budgetary challenges; therefore our educational and debt management services were in high demand. Shortly after opening, we proudly launched the Wave of the Future program dedicating time and resources to educate high school and college students on a variety of financial topics such as budgeting, credit card debt and credit reporting.
Through the years we have expanded these programs to include corporations, the military and social organizations. We also began to provide adult education through personal, one-on-one counseling. Many consumers have qualified and enrolled onto our debt management program which has enabled them to pay off credit card debt more efficiently, seeing significant savings from interest charges and other fees.
Through today, more than 100,000 individuals have received financial counseling from DebtWave and approximately 8,000 have graduated from the debt management program by paying their debt in full.

Since 2002 our team has educated and empowered thousands of people searching for a way back to financial freedom. As a nonprofit debt education and credit counseling agency, our purpose is to help people get out of debt and stay out of debt though education, counseling and debt management. We teach debt and credit management skills through a mix of online tools, self guided resources, one-on-one counseling and workshops with our experts.
Because we are an accredited nonprofit agency, we hold ourselves to the highest ethical and professional standard in the industry, ensuring that every client we meet leaves more educated and less fearful of the future. Proudly helping people get out of debt, one dollar at a time.

DebtWave is a proud supporter of our community. We have partnered and been honored by various organizations and causes throughout our region.
We strive to work with organizations like USO San Diego where we have received their Community Support award. The partnership in our Wave of the Future Golf Classic has raised nearly $16,000.00 for Financial Literacy and USO San Diego programs and the event has grown every year.
DebtWave is also the chosen instructor for the National Veterans Transition Services, Inc.'s REBOOT Workshops. This incredible program is a three week course designed to help supply men and women with the tools to assimilate back into civilian society. One of the courses in the third week of the program is financial tools where DebtWave's SWYM Program is presented to the students.
